Custom paver patios that handle South Jersey winters

Herringbone paver patio installation in South Jersey

A paver patio is the most-requested project we install — and for good reason. Done right, it adds usable outdoor square footage, raises curb appeal, and lasts decades with almost no maintenance. Done wrong, it heaves in the winter, weeds grow through the joints, and you're calling us to rip it out in five years.

We build paver patios the way they're supposed to be built: over-excavated to a deep crushed-stone subgrade, compacted in lifts, set on a screeded sand bed, and locked in with polymeric sand and a rigid edge restraint. We pick base depths based on what we see in your soil — sandy lots in Absecon get a different prep than the heavier clay we sometimes hit further inland. The pavers themselves we source from manufacturers we've used for years, in colors and patterns that work with your home rather than against it.

Paver Patios options we install

Herringbone

The strongest interlocking pattern. Best for driveways and any patio that'll see heavy furniture or foot traffic. Our most-installed pattern.

Running bond

Cleaner, more contemporary look. Great for walkways and modern home styles.

Circle kits & focal medallions

A circle paver kit at the center of a patio makes the whole space feel intentional. Also great for fire-pit surrounds.

Permeable pavers

For homes near the bay, in flood zones, or with drainage issues — water passes through the joints into a deep aggregate base instead of running off.

What it’s like to work with us

Most paver patios take 3-7 days from break-ground to final clean-up depending on size and access. We tarp adjacent landscaping, work clean, and we don't take partial payment until you're standing on the finished patio.

Paver Patios questions, answered

How long does a paver patio last?

A properly installed paver patio should last 25+ years with minimal maintenance. The pavers themselves are rated for 50+ years. The variable is the base prep — that's where bad installs fail.

Will my pavers shift over the winter?

Not if the base is right. We over-excavate, use a deep crushed-stone subgrade, and compact in lifts. South Jersey freezes don't move properly built patios.

Can you match the existing pavers on my old patio?

In most cases, yes. If we can identify the manufacturer and color, we'll source matching units. If not, we'll suggest a complementary border that looks intentional rather than mismatched.
